What do we know about the cannabinoid HHC-O?

What is HHC-O?

The term HHC-O may sound familiar to you. Not really, since the precursor to this newly discovered cannabinoid is the popular HHC (hexahydrocannabinol). The "O" stands for acetate, hexahydrocannabinol acetate. Unlike HHC, HHC-O is not found in the cannabis plant, even in trace amounts, and is produced in the laboratory by a chemical reaction called acylation.

The addition of acetate enhances the potency of the cannabinoid, meaning the effects are stronger than those of HHC. Compounds made in this way bind more strongly to our CB1 cannabinoid receptors in the endocannabinoid system.

The effects of HHC-O

It is reported that the effects of HHC-O are similar to HHC, but are more intense and last longer than those of HHC. HHC-O is one of the psychoactive cannabinoids.

After taking HHC-O, you may experience:

  • relaxation
  • relief from anxiety and stress
  • improved sleep
  • a burst of energy
  • pain relief

Unfortunately, we don't have enough information on HHC-O yet, so caution is in order, and it's always best to start slowly and with a low dose.

Side effects of HHC-O

What about side effects? So far there are no clinical studies that have looked at the effects of HHC-O on the body and mind. This is based on experience and knowledge of cannabinoids with similar chemical structures and psychoactive effects. 

The following may occur:

  • dry mouth
  • redness of the eyes
  • increased appetite
  • increased heart rate
  • insomnia
  • anxiety
  • paranoia

 


Is HHC-O safe and legal?

HHC-O is not on the list of banned substances and the products commonly available on the market legally meet the maximum permitted THC level of 1% in the Czech Republic. In practice, HHC-O flowers, cartridges and vapes usually contain only up to 0.2-0.3% THC.

In terms of safety, as already mentioned, we have very little information to say for sure that HHC-O is safe. With all cannabinoids, you should always only deal with reliable and trustworthy sellers who will guarantee the quality and purity of the products, i.e. prove the results of laboratory analysis.

HHC-O offer

Nowadays you can already get HHC-O vape pens, flowers, cartridges, HHC-O extracts (hash) are also available. 

HHC-O flowers are cannabis buds with a high CBD content and a permitted amount of THC, enriched with HHC-O distillate. The advantage of the flowers is that they naturally contain a variety of other cannabinoids that work together to amplify or complement each other (entourage effect). The flowers contain 10-80% HHC-O distillate.

HHC-O vapes are vaporizing pens with HHC-O distillate, which is supplemented with selected terpenes. HHC-O cartridges and vape pens are often combined with other cannabinoids such as CBD, HHC or extra strong HHC-P in varying concentrations. This way, everyone can choose the strength and combination of cannabinoids according to their desired preference.
