What is HHCP?

What is HHC-P?

HHC-P, full name hexahydrocannabiphorol, is a cannabinoid derived from hexahydrocannabinol (HHC). You won't find this compound in nature, it is produced synthetically in the laboratory. HHC-P is reported to be the most potent cannabinoid. This claim is based on the similarity in chemical structure to THC-P. Both of these cannabinoids have a side chain of seven carbons (HHC has only a five-carbon chain). The longer alkyl chain means better binding to the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system.

According to a 2019 study, THC-P is 33 times more active on CB1 receptors than THC, and it is thought that HHC-P could be even more potent.

What are the effects of HHC-P?

All mammals have a complex system of cell signaling known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The main function of the ECS is to maintain homeostasis - the stability of the body's internal environment. Endocannabinoids, which are part of the ECS, act on the endocannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, thereby influencing a number of processes in the body such as sleep, mood, pain perception and immune response.

Cannabinoids have a similar function to endocannabinoids. As already mentioned, HHC-P binds strongly to the endocannabinoid receptor CB1 and can therefore produce these effects:

  • euphoria
  • relief from stress and anxiety
  • relaxation
  • better sleep
  • increased appetite

HHC-P is a psychoactive cannabinoid, which means it can affect consciousness, perception, mood and thinking.

Does HHC-P have side effects?

Side effects can occur with all cannabis compounds, especially those with psychoactive effects. However, because HHC-P is a new cannabinoid, there are no studies that have looked at the long-term effects on the body and mind. Therefore, the effects of analogue derivatives are relied upon. On this basis, it is assumed that the following effects could occur:

  • dry mouth
  • anxiety
  • redness of the eyes
  • insomnia
  • rapid heartbeat
  • dizziness
  • paranoia

Although these are short-term negative effects that should subside within a few hours, caution is always in order. If you are trying new cannabinoids, always start with a low dose.

The HHC-P range

Already experienced with HHC and looking for something stronger? Then the wide range of HHC-P vapes, cartridges and HHC-P flowers will definitely appeal to you.

In addition to HHC-P and HHC, vaping pens also contain CBD. In brick-and-mortar stores and e-shops that offer vapes, you can of course also find refills (cartridges) in different concentrations and flavours.

Those who prefer a natural blend of cannabinoids and terpenes with something "extra" can try HHC-P flowers. These are cannabis flowers with a high CBD content and a permitted amount of THC, evenly sprayed with HHC-P distillate. HHC-P gummies, oils and HHC-P hash are also commonly available.

Whichever form of HHC-P you prefer, always be sure to choose a trusted retailer who is not only knowledgeable and able to advise you, but also has their products lab tested and publishes the results on their website.
